"Maharlika" Reimagined Vintage Kimono - Kimono Zulu Artist Collaboration with Matt Manalo

This design is a collaboration with Houston writer and poet, Jenah Maravilla. I used an excerpt from her poem titled, "Dear Motherland, -Love, Summer Baby." The silhouette of a girl is from a photograph taken in Smokey Mountain by my good friend Minda Ponce-Rodriguez, who is a film maker in the Philippines. I then used that photograph for a woodcut I did years ago which inspired the image for the kimono.
