Inspired by the vibrant collage work of Henri Matisse, Colors in Bloom is a joyful celebration of nature, color, and creative resilience.

This one-of-a-kind kimono honors Matisse’s love of organic forms and his iconic use of bold, cut-paper shapes. Across the garment, expressive floral motifs bloom with movement and energy, transforming the kimono into a wearable garden of dynamic color and form.

Artist Nicole Peralta began embracing collage during the pandemic, echoing Matisse’s own creative journey later in life, when he turned to paper cut-outs as a powerful new language of expression.
