Conceptual Brilliance:

Home

"From a purely conceptual point of view , the artwork on this beautiful kimono is a mix full of references. If we read literally, we will find Banksy with the rat (you lie), bottom left. The crown on the head of my model is a tribute to Basquiat. The dog collar refers to the universe and the layout of Keith Haring. My muse, the revisited Marilyn from Andy Warhol wears Frida Kahlo's big eyebrows. The clown nose and Mickey's ears are direct references to Mr. Cartoon and the world of Walt Disney. Her pose is inspired by the Mona Lisa of Leonardo da Vinci. The big dots you see around are references to the work of Damien Hirst. As for the slogan "make art great again" - with my personal lettering, it’s borrowed from the campaign slogan of Donald Trump with many twists." - Mr.D 1987

Artistic Techniques:
This one-of-a-kind meisen kimono is a living canvas brought to life through a dynamic mixed media: aerosol spray paint, ink, stencils, and acrylic paint. Mr.D 1987 has intricately woven elements from various iconic artists and cultural references, creating a vibrant and thought-provoking masterpiece.
